The sculptural process began in 2005 after the three-time  Melbourne Cup winner, Makybe Diva,  was announced as retiring. Ken immersed himself in George Stubbs 1766 masterwork, Anatomy of a Horse and spent multiple sessions with the mighty mare.  The life-size statue was unveiled in the home town of her owner Tony Santic.
